Shai Brides are a group from Birmingham who write hectic pop music. Drawing comparisons to post-punk and the experimental indie groups of the 1980s such as New Order and Talking Heads, as well as newer alternative acts such as Everything Everything and St Vincent, they bring together whirling psychedelic guitars with glittering synths and blistering drumbeats. Beginning as a solo project operating out of a university bedroom before evolving into a five-person collaboration, the band has gone on to play shows at prestigious venues including the Sunflower Lounge and their lead vocalist's back garden.

2019 has already seen Shai Brides play supporting slots with highly-rated national up-and-comers Valeras and Orchards, alongside venturing for the first time into the studio to record material for their first single, to be released in the Autumn. With momentum on their side following a successful summer of releasing new music with their 'Bridal Sketches' project, now's a good time to start paying attention.
